Philanthropists Honored at Annual Dinner

More than 100 people attended Moravian Manor's Annual Donor Recognition Dinner, which was held on April 29 in Steinman Hall. New members of the Heritage Circle, and members who have reached a higher gift level, were honored for their loyal and generous support of the Manor's ministry.

Mr. and Mrs. Steven W. Bomberger were recognized as C. Robert Fowler Benefactors. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony A. Auriti and Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Bomberger were recognized as Byron K. Horne Benefactors. A complete listing of the Heritage Circle membership is included in the 2010 Annual Report, which is available online.

All honorees were presented with a piece of pottery made by Lititz artesian Steve de Perrot. The color pallet and pattern were designed specifically for Moravian Manor's donor recognition program.

The Heritage Circle recognized our abundantly generous friends who have made a one-time gift or cumulative gifts of $10,000 or more in support of the Manor's ministry. The gift levels are named in honor of the visionary and courageous individuals who served on the founding board or who were instrumental in the planning or early development of Moravian Manor.

Benjamin G. Forrest Benefactors – $250,000 or more.
Ben Forrest was a courageous leader in the founding of Moravian Manor. He was instrumental in developing the initial plans and financing of the Manor. His compassion was the benchmark for the Manor's philosophy of providing the highest standards of care possible to all residents regardless of their financial capability. He served on the Board of Trustees from 1965 through 1978, and was president from 1971 through 1978.

Paul W. McCloud Benefactors – $100,000 to $249,999
Paul "Poss" McCloud was a designer and landscape architect providing visionary leadership as the Manor grew. His vision for a beautiful campus was realized and has been honored throughout the Manor's history. Paul served on the founding Board from 1970 through 1983. His term as president was 1978 through 1983.

Richard A. Snyder Benefactors – $50,000 to $99,999
Senator Richard Snyder served as an advisory member of the Board of Trustees from 1985 through 1992. Senator Snyder shared his wisdom and influence in long-term care concerns and was a generous contributor to Moravian Manor.

C. Robert Fowler Benefactors – $25,000 to $49,999
Bob Fowler was a trustee and served as treasurer of Moravian Manors, Inc., from 1955 until 1985. As treasurer, he shouldered responsibility for financing in the early years of the Manor's development.

Byron K. Horne Benefactors – $10,000 to $24,999
Dr. Horne was involved in the early planning stages of Moravian Manor. He was a long-time friend of the Manor; and as a resident from 1987 through 1992, he provided pastoral services and guidance.
