Rehabilitation care at Moravian Manor encompasses physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as sub-acute and chronic rehabilitation. Our person-centered care approach helps each individual achieve maximum functional independence and quality of life.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapy is a branch of rehabilitative health that uses exercise, hands on therapy, and equipment specifically designed to improve a patient’s physical abilities, including balance, strength, and general mobility, safely increasing the patient’s functional independence.

PT services include:

  • Teaching the use of a cane or walker, manual wheelchair or power wheelchair/ scooter
  • Balance training for unsteadiness with walking or history of falls
  • Pain reduction for arthritis pain and other pain issues
  • Postural exercises
  • Home evaluation for safety issues

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapy uses a holistic approach to treating the person with regard to his or her own home surroundings. Therapy may include adaptation of tasks within the patient’s environment to achieve maximum independence.

OT services include:

  • Treatment programs aimed at improving abilities to carry out activities of daily living (dressing, bathing)
  • Home evaluation and recommendations on necessary adaptation
  • Recommendations and training in the use of adaptive equipment to replace lost function
  • Specific exercise activities to increase endurance, strength, movement and coordination

Speech Therapy

Our speech therapy helps individuals with communication and/or swallowing disorders. This is achieved by restoring prior skills or teaching the patient new skills to adapt to their disabilities.

ST services include:

  • Evaluation of speech, language, voice, swallowing and cognitive skills
  • Provide recommendations specific to resident needs
